SARAH MATTOX she/her (BOOK/MUSIC/LYRICS) After 25 years as an opera and concert soloist, Sarah Mattox returns to her first love, musical theater. An award-winning composer, Mattox was a 2014 John Duffy Composers Institute Fellow for her chamber opera Heart Mountain, received a 2020 ASCAP Plus Award, and won the 2013 Boston Metro Opera International Composers' Competition OPERA PUPPETS Mainstage Award for her song cycle, "Rumpelstiltskin and the Falcon King." Called "entertaining, exuberant," and "just incredible," her compositions have been praised for their "natural sense of phrasing and flow," and "the just plain beauty of the music." She is thrilled to be partnering with her amazing friends, Jack, Sage, and Michael, in this project that is so near to her heart. www.sarahmattox.com

SAGE DAIÕ GOODENOUGH she/her (ADDITIONAL LYRICS AND DIALOGUE) Sage is the 2024 Portland Poetry Slam Champion and a transgender spoken word poet living in Portland, Oregon. She has been performing works on the ambiguity of gender and holding trauma softly for close to ten years. At any given time, you might find her sitting in silent meditation or working in the garden where she lives and trains at Dharma Rain Zen Center. She is thrilled to be a part of the Regular Joe team, contributing poetry and dialogue deeply rooted in the trans experience.

JONATHAN “Jack” L.A. MORGAN he/him (ADDITIONAL LYRICS AND DIALOGUE) is a former coloratura soprano who did the obligatory turns as nuns, chorus member and small-time soloist before accepting that mad scenes were too dysphoria-inducing for him to continue pursuing a full-time singing career. Never fear! Jack is now a trans theologian, poet and tenor who has somehow embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, helping college friend and fellow musician Sarah bring this amazing story of trans affirmation to life.
